The following is an excerpt.

Early in November a large delegation from China paid a visit to the Gas Gun and Shock Tube facilities.

The occasion was the «Technology Days 2018» in Trondheim and the Norwegian Technology Transfer was arranged by the Norwegian Public Road Administration. Among the visitors were representatives of Chinas largest contractor, China Communications Construction Company Ltd. CCCC is also a research leader on behalf of the Chinese Government.  For the past years they have been hunting for road-building contracts in Norway.

Guide in the facilities was researcher Martin Kristoffersen. The visitors got a live test of a metallic plate subjected to a blast load in the Shock Tube. Other attendants were researchers and representatives of Tianjin Hydraulic Institute (TIWTE), Chinese Design Institute, researchers & specialist contractors for heavy marine works and tunnel engineering consultants from different research institutes.
