After 2 years of postponement, SFI CASA is ready to host the next International Conference on
Impact Loading of Structures and Materials -ICILSM 2022. The event takes place in Trondheim, 13-17 June.

The deadline for abstract submissions is set to 18 February, and 1 April is the end date of early-bird registration.
Initially, the ICILSM was planned for in 2020. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was postponed for two years. ICILSM 2022 will be the 3rd in a series of international conferences organized by the International Society of Impact Engineering.
Developing the field of impact engineering
The conference is a forum to exchange ideas and experience on the behaviour and modelling of materials, safety and design of structures subjected to high strain rate, impact and blast loading in particular. The aim is to assemble engineers, scientists and policymakers to develop the field of impact engineering, applying it worldwide to the benefit of society.
A primary objective for the ICILSM conferences is to strengthen the link between research and development carried out at universities and research organizations and the needs of industry and society. Thus, scientists from academia and industry are encouraged to contribute to the conference.
The list of topics includes but is not limited to:
- Impact and failure of structures and materials under impact and blast loading
- Systems for protection and absorption of impact and blast loading
- Terminal ballistics
- Dynamic material behaviour and failure
- Stress waves
- Structural crashworthiness
- High-rate mechanical and forming processes
- Impact, blast and high-rate loading/measurement techniques and their applications
The final programme will be announced on 15 May. You can find more information on registration, the abstract templates, and abstract submissions at the ICILSM 2022 conference website.
