The executive board of Trondheim municipality, including the mayor Rita Ottervik, have witnessed a crash test in the kicking machine.
The politicians from the executive board of Trondheim municipality spent several hours at NTNU on 23 January. Their host was Rector Anne Borg and Pro-Rector for Research, Bjarne Foss. On the agenda were discussions about sustainability and quality in education and research, sustainability.
They also discussed the plans for the development of NTNUs campuses, which is also an important topic these days. Over the next years, all NTNU’s academic communities in Trondheim will be gathered from dispersed locations to a single campus in the area around Gløshaugen. This is an essential project, both for the city of Trondheim and the nation as a whole.
The rectors took the opportunity to show the visitors examples of excellent research and innovation at the university. After the visit, Anne Borg tweeted that she is always proud to do so, and also referred to the presentation at SIMLab. Here, they got a demonstration on research in the field of transportation and physical security. Centre director Magnus Langseth gave the attentive audience a short introduction to CASA. The visit was finished up by a 40 kph crash test of an aluminium profile in the kicking machine.
